Bangor’s athletic teams kicked off the week of 9/14 with strong momentum, as the girls led the charge with key victories in field hockey, soccer, and tennis.
Monday afternoon soccer picked up a 3-2 victory, while tennis won 3-2 over Pen Argyl on their Senior Night. On Tuesday, field hockey pulled away with a 2-0 victory over Lehighton.
The winning trend had to come to an end, however, as both girls and boys soccer had tough losses to Southern Lehigh after their matchups Wednesday afternoon. The girls ended 2-3 while the boys ended 0-4. To make up for the losses from soccer, field hockey had an upset win over Northwestern on Thursday winning 1-0.
Slaters’ football and boys soccer where unable to close out the week with victories, with football losing to Blue Mountain Friday night (0-35) and boys soccer losing to a goal at the end of double overtime (0-1) on Saturday morning.
Despite some tough losses to end the week, Bangor’s teams had several strong performances and will look to bounce back in the coming games.
