RECAP: Undefeated Notre Dame Heads to District Finals

The Notre Dame Crusaders hosted the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at Fisher Stadium Friday night. This game was the second round of the PIAA District XI 3A football playoffs.

The Crusaders had a 59 to 16 win over the Blue Raiders. Notre Dame’s Faust Capobianco scored the first touchdown within the first minutes of the game, setting an electric tone from the start. While Tamaqua answered with a touchdown by Malachi Stewart and a successful two point conversion, the Crusaders brought the momentum back and only allowed the Blue Raiders to put up 16 points during the first half, completely shutting them down in the second half. The Crusaders put up five rushing touchdowns, three by Capobianco and two by Jonathan Striba and Tommy Murphy. In addition, quarterback Matt Bodnar threw for two touchdown passes to Alex Clark and Cody Driscoll.

The Undefeated Crusaders will face the undefeated Northwestern Lehigh Tigers in the District XI 3A Finals at 7:05 next Friday night, November 11th, at Catasauqua Alumni Field.
