2026 Girls Volleyball Previews

Head Coach: Cristal Fernandez – 4 years

Assistant Coaches:
Juan Rosario
Omar Tembo
Amelia Ballard

Sport: Volleyball (G)

Team Name: Whitehall Zephyrs

League: EPC

2025 Record: 7-13

Key Players Lost:
Allison Keck – Outside Hitter
Maggie Marinkovits – Middle Blocker

Key Returning Players:
LaSereon James – Senior, Outside Hitter
Captain, she is an integral part of the team with a high volleyball IQ, competitive mindset and offensive/defensive skills, committed to Kutztown University to continue her academic/athletic career next Fall

Lila Pinkey: Senior, Middle Blocker
She is newer to the position as a Middle, but her speed and ability to adjust to different sets make her the ultimate “Swiss Army Knife”. Her energy and leadership really brings the girls together

Makenna Reichenbach: Junior, Setter/Opposite Hitter
By being a dual-sport athlete that participates in Track & Field during the Spring, Kenna’s athleticism is nothing short of remarkable. The skills she learned from Spring season have directly correlated into her current position as a Setter and Opposite Hitter

Key Newcomers:
Ty’Veih Wilson: Sophomore, Outside Hitter
Corynn Troxell: Junior, Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter

2026 Outlook: This year’s varsity team enters the season with a strong foundation and plenty to prove. One of the team’s biggest strengths is our core group of seniors, many of whom have been playing and growing together since their middle school days. That experience has allowed them to build a strong level of trust and chemistry that carries over directly onto the court. Their leadership and work ethic sets a high standard for the younger players on the team.

There is a clear sense of determination surrounding this year’s team. The girls are motivated to go after the “high-hanging fruit”. That goal has translated into the gym, where players come to practice head-down/ready to work, focused on improving and willing to put in the effort necessary to take the next step.

The biggest question mark heading into the season will be the schedule – playing 4 games a week – which is tougher/more taxing on the girls than in years past. The increased level of competition will provide a challenge, but the team is excited for the opportunity. Rather than shying away from the tougher schedule, the girls are eager to get underway and show everyone what they are capable of.

The gains from the weight room are evident in our net play with the increase in ball velocity on our attacks and the verticality in their jumping. We have a lot of depth in every position. Our defense has improved the range of coverage and defending a variety of offensive attacks. We are working on an uptempo offense. if we can get that polished, we may be able to create socring opportunities from every area of the net.
