A new year brings high expectations for Northwestern Lehigh

Monday marked the start of winter sports practices and Northwestern Lehigh is looking for big things on the girls side. Chris Deutsch returns three starters to this years team along with a number of players that bring back experience from last years team. The team will be anchored by senior Sydney Sevrain, senior Mackenzie Hess and junior Ali Lister.

The Tigers are coming off a season that saw them go 14-3 in league play and 21-6 overall. They lost to Southern Lehigh in the Colonial League semifinals and to Bethlehem Catholic in the District semifinals.

Deutsch will enter the 2019-20 season with an overall record of 266-145 over 17 years.

The Tigers open the Colonial League season at home against Saucon Valley on December 9, after tipping off the season with two non-league games against Whitehall and Emmaus.
