Erik Hernandez – Forward
Aaryn Nickerson – Guard

Key Returning Players:
Brayden Maksimik – 2025, 6’2. Guard 8.5PPG. – Brayden Maksimik is our most experienced varsity player returning to the lineup. With his size, skill, and athleticism at the guard position, Brayden has the potential to be an all-area player this year with a ton of opportunity to lead this program in the right direction.

Brady Najda – 2024, 6″3 – Forward – Brady is another returning varsity player with some experience. His size and ability to stretch the floor at the forward position can present a challenging matchup.

John Silvestre – 2025, 6″7, Forward. John is a player that started to transition to varsity late in the season last year. John’s growth physically, and in skill will make him a strong defensive presence and another challenging matchup with his ability to run the floor, finish at the rim, and shoot the three.

Johnny Burke – 2025, 6’1 Center. Johnny is another player with size and strength that started to transition into a varsity role midway through last season. He presents great leadership, energy, and physicality to the lineup. Johnny continues to improve and will have a huge role in our program moving forward.

Key Newcomers:
Chase McCole 2026 Guard
Dillon Teter 2025 Guard
Alex Rivera 2027 Guard
Jonnuel Reyes 2027 Guard

2023-24 Outlook: Our strength this year will be our size and length at almost every position. We have a strong rotation of forwards and centers all above 6’0 with a mobile and active 6’7 forward.

Our size and speed will give us an advantage on both ends, from being able to guard sideline to sideline with hands in the passing lanes and protecting the paint, to running the floor with the ability to sit on the low block as well as shoot threes. We will present tough matchups for many teams.

We lack varsity experience. We lost a huge amount of points per game and minutes per game over the past 2 years. We’ve also lost, some would say, some of the best lineups of Shenandoah Valley basketball from Kosar, Matta, and the district championship team’s senior class, to last year’s class with all area players in Kaleb and Brian.

We have a lot of experience, leadership, talent, and statistics to make up for this year and it will be interesting to see how we settle into our roles.

In addition, there is a new coach in Coach Josh Dombrosky who is a first-year head coach. Coach Dombrosky is a former graduate from SV and current Sports Hall Of Fame Inductee at the school district. Graduated in 2012, District Runner up, All-State 3rd team. Co-Player of the Year in Republican and Standard Speaker 2012. Went on to play 4 years at Division 2 – California University of PA followed by 2 years semi-pro for the Tampa Bay Fury. Also had college coaching experience at PSU- New Kensington and California University of PA. – There will be a challenge in adapting to a new system.
