Blue Mountain 9/17 Recap

Last night, the Blue Mountain girls volleyball team traveled to Jim Thorpe to collect another win. The eagles swept their opponent 25-15, 25-19, 25-15. Myah Conway carried the team offensively with 18 kills, three aces, and eight digs. As for the back row, Jocelyn Marshall led the defense with 20 digs, compiling enough to record her 1,000th dig in her high school career. 

Both the boys and girls cross country teams recorded wins last night over North Schuylkill, Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe, making their records 6-0. Colin Phipps took first place in the boys race in 17:26, and Olivia Hass won the girls race in 17:57. 

The girls’ soccer team suffered a loss to Pottsville after a close game, 2-1. In the second half, Erin McKivigan scored Blue Mountain’s only goal. Blue Mountain had six shots on goal compared to Pottsville’s 11 shots on goal.
