Class 1A All-State Football Team: Four Williams Valley players selected to team

The Pennsylvania Football Writers named their top players today in Class 1A. Williams Valley led the way in District 11 with four players selected.

Quarterback Bryce Herb completed 86 of 194 passes for 1,875 yards with 24 touchdowns. He finishes as the all-time leader in passing yards (4,880) and passing touchdowns (66).

One of Herb’s favorite targets was tight end Jesse Engle. He caught 35 passes for 685 yards and 13 touchdowns.

On the defensive side at linebacker, Logan Willard recorded 61 total tackles, 43 solo, seven tackles for loss and five interceptions.

Jake Herman had five interceptions and 22 total tackles at defensive back.

Also, Mahanoy Area’s Ben Terry was named 1st team as an athlete. He rushed for 1,185 yards on 154 carries and had 21 touchdowns for the Golden Bears.
