Four RBI Day for Chloe Carmella Seals the Deal in Stroudsburg Mountaineers’ Softball Victory Over East Stroudsburg South

Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity defeated East Stroudsburg South 11-4 on Friday thanks in part to Chloe Carmella, who drove in four runners. Carmella drove in runs on a double in the first and a double in the second.

Stroudsburg grabbed an early lead. They scored on a double by Carmella in the first inning, a home run by Lilah Guthy in the first inning, a double by Haleigh Mazol in the second inning, a double by Carmella in the second inning, and a double by Bailey Goldberg in the second inning.

The Mountaineers Varsity took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second, Mazol doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Carmella doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs. Goldberg doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Natalie Berwick got the win for Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity. The righty allowed three hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight.

Stroudsburg smacked one home run on the day. Guthy went yard in the first inning.

Stroudsburg Mountaineers Varsity tallied 12 hits. Breanna Goldspiel, Goldberg, Carmella, and Mazol each managed multiple hits for Stroudsburg. Goldspiel led the team with three hits in four at bats.
