Palisades Sports Recap Week of 4/26-4/30

As spring sports are coming down to their final couple of weeks, the pressure is on for each team to secure their next win. Here is this week’s Palisades sports recap for the week of May 26 to May 30.

The Varsity baseball team started off the week with an away win against Pen Argyl, 4-0. They then fell short against Notre Dame Green Pond on Wednesday, 6-1. Finally, their week ended with a win against Wilson, 14-6. Both Varsity and JV are going to be facing Bangor on Monday, but Varsity will be home and JV will be away.

The Pirates’ Varsity softball team had a tough week. They added three more losses to their record. On Monday the team fell to Pen Argyl by five runs, with a final score of 7-2. Then on Wednesday, they could not stop Notre Dame Green Pond from scoring and lost 17-6. Finally on Friday, the team fell short to Wilson after battling some tough wind and rain. The team’s record is now 1-13 with their only win being against Catasauqua. Their next game is on Monday, May 3, against Bangor.

Both boys’ and girls’ track and field teams had meets last Tuesday. The boys’ team beat Catasauqua in a blowout score of 109-28. The girls’ team also prevailed with their own score of 128.5-17.5. Both teams’ next meets are home on Tuesday.

The boys’ Varsity tennis team did not have any more matches this week. Their season finished last week after a 0-5 loss against Saucon Valley. The girls’ season will begin in August.

In other sports news, basketball athlete Trinity Williams was named Class 3A girls’ 2nd Team All-State. She will be continuing her academic and athletic career in the fall at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
