Spartans Shutout Olympians

At Panther Valley Football Stadium, the North Schuylkill Spartans traveled to take on the Jim Thorpe Olympians. Coming into the match up, both teams were 3-0 on the season.

North Schuylkill dominated the game from the very beginning. The Spartans opened up the scoring with a 22-yard touchdown from Josh Chowansky with 7:00 left in the first quarter. Quarterback Jake Hall then fired a pass to Tanner Walacavage in the end zone to put the Spartans up 14-0. To end the first, Jaxson Chowansky had a one-yard rushing touchdown. This gave the Spartans a 21-0 lead to end the first half.

The Olympians could not answer back throughout the third quarter. Hall added another TD pass to Dylan Dietz with 8:12 left in the third. The Spartans topped off the shutout with an impressive 39-yard rushing TD from Josh Chowansky, his second of the night.

The Spartans come out of this one as the only undefeated team in the Schuylkill League. Next week, they take on the Marian Catholic Colts at home. The Olympians travel to take on the Lehighton Indians next week.
