Easton Returns to Cottingham in a Big Way

EASTON – The Pocono Mountain East Cardinals were the first guests in Easton’s new Cottingham Stadium. The new stadium has been a long time coming and the first game for the Red Rovers back in Cottingham in two years. The atmosphere was loud and energetic. Rover Nation showed up tonight!

Within the first few minutes of the game, Easton set the tone on their defense with a big sack. Under two minutes into the first quarter, Easton’s RB Marcus Williams scored his first of six touchdowns on the night (four in the first quarter). Easton’s dominance extended throughout all four quarters.

Easton head coach Jeff Braido said that his boys played well tonight, and with a final score of 76-6, that fact could not be disputed.

D11Sports.com player of the game Marcus Williams said, “…the atmosphere in Cottingham was awesome — the best in Pennsylvania.” Easton Athletic Director Jim Pokrivsak made a point to thank the nearly 5,000 fans in attendance, and said that he hopes that the few hours in that wonderful atmosphere, “let’s people forget the ups and downs of the past year and gives them a sense of normalcy,” as they were welcomed back to Cottingham.
