On Friday evening, Easton Boys Basketball hosted a tough matchup against Wilson High School. The Red Rovers came into this match with a 0-2 record, while the Wilson Bulldogs were undefeated. Although the Bulldogs were undefeated, the Red Rovers persisted and kept with Wilson for the entire game. They came up short, however, losing to Wilson by ten points.
Throughout the first quarter, Wilson was able to come up with 14 points. The team’s top scorer of the quarter was Ofure Odiale, who scored four of those points. Easton scored ten points. Their top scorer for the first quarter was Andrew Hoadley, as he scored four points as well.
In the second quarter, the Wilson Bulldogs came out on top with a 13-point quarter, while the Easton Red Rovers fell short by nine points. Wilson had three players make three-point-shots during this quarter, which included Madyx Gruber, Cleveland Harding, and Aidan Melograna.
Both teams came in strong in the second quarter. The third quarter was very back-and-forth, as both teams had a high scoring quarter. Wilson scored 19 points, with both Odiale and Melograna scoring six points this quarter. Easton came out of the quarter with 17 points, with their leading scorer of the quarter, Jaiden Folk, scoring six points as well.
Although the third quarter was high scoring, the fourth quarter showed the opposite, as both teams only scored nine points each. The final score of the game was 55-45, Wilson.
Easton’s top scorer was CJ Hunt, who scored a total of 11 points during the game while Wilson’s top scorer was Ofure Odiale, who scored 20 points.
On Tuesday, December 13, Easton will travel to Pocono Mountain West High School to take on the Panthers in hopes of their first win of the season.
