Key Returning Players: Boys:
Connor Hibell – Sophomore, returning district champion and state qualifying athlete from last year is looking to be the top varsity boy runner and lead the Palmerton boys team to another successful season.
Alex Saas – Only returning senior from last year’s district championship Palmerton varsity boys team, state qualifying athlete and looking to take on a leadership role to ensure the same athlete standards that were met last season for Palmerton are met this season.
Girls:
Cora Wentz – Senior, the perfect example of a multi-sport state qualifying student athlete looking to be a captain and mentor for the expanding Palmerton varsity girls team.
Emma Rex – Sophomore, talented young state qualifying athlete competing to be Palmerton’s new top varsity girl runner and gain even more success than she did last season.
2023 Outlook: Boys: Lost seven seniors, working hard and searching to maintain at least some of the success earned the previous season. Connor Hibell and Alex Saas are two of the top five varsity boy runners returning hoping to consistently contribute again this year. Junior Sean Jahelka and a large sophomore class will play key factors into the 2023 Palmerton XC story.
Girls: Lost only one senior but looking to gain in numbers. Team goal is to have at least five varsity girl runners so team can score and obviously get Cora and Emma back to Hershey again. Quality not quantity will be a team motto again this year, while also looking for growth and a chance to earn not only individual success, but team success with some W’s.
