Former Pennridge Head Coach To Lead Southern Lehigh Boys Soccer Program

Center Valley, PA. – The Southern Lehigh School District Department of Athletics and Administrative team has recommended Pete Valimont to be Southern Lehigh’s next Head Boys Soccer Coach, pending School Board approval on January 12, 2026. Coach Valimont will be replacing Mark Evans who held the position for 12 seasons.

Coach Valimont emerged as the top candidate during the screening and interview process. Pete played soccer and graduated from Gettysburg College. He is currently a health & physical education teacher at the Pennridge School District. Coach Valimont was the head boys soccer coach at Pennridge HS from 2008-2022 and amassed 141 wins while reaching the PIAA State Quarterfinals in 2022. Coach Vallimont is the winningest coach at Pennridge in program history. Last season he was the head coach of the junior high boys soccer program at Southern Lehigh.

Athletic Director Matt Spengler had this to say, “Coach Valimont stood out during the interview process. His success at Pennridge, his work with the junior high team, and commitment to the sport of soccer made a positive impact with the committee. Coach Valimont is a seasoned coach with a lot of experience in big games and pressure situations. Pete is excited to continue to coach in his home district and Southern Lehigh is thrilled to have him.”

Coach Valimont said this when asked about the opportunity at Southern Lehigh, “I am grateful to the Southern Lehigh administration for their confidence in entrusting me with the Boys Varsity Soccer program. I am excited to continue my dedication to the local soccer community and look forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place as we work toward a successful and competitive program.”
