Southern Lehigh Beats Dock Mennonite

Southern Lehigh continued its strong postseason run on Thursday night, traveling to Dock Mennonite Academy and earning a convincing straight-set victory in the PIAA District 1/XI Boys Volleyball Sub-Regional.

The Spartans, now 16-5 on the season, defeated Dock Academy 3-0 by scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-18 to punch their ticket into the next round of the state tournament.

Southern Lehigh controlled the tempo from the opening serve, using a balanced attack, tough serving, and strong play at the net to overwhelm Dock Academy. After taking the opening set 25-18, the Spartans dominated the second frame, cruising to a 25-12 victory before sealing the sweep with another 25-18 win in the third set.

Setter Tyler Dittus orchestrated the offense efficiently, finishing with 22 assists while adding one kill, four digs and a block.

Southern Lehigh received a huge boost from Nate Bukta, who sparked the Spartans from the service line with six aces to go along with four kills, one dig and three blocks. Jeremy Hoch also delivered a strong all-around effort, tallying six kills, two digs, one block and two aces.

Henry Parrish made his presence known at the net, recording six kills and an impressive six blocks while adding an ace. Cavan King-Vlass contributed five kills and two assists, while Zach Roman chipped in three kills, four digs, one assist and one ace.

Mason Williams added two kills and a block, while Chase Benner helped anchor the back row with five digs and an ace.
With the win, Southern Lehigh advances to the next round of the PIAA postseason and will host District 12 No. 2 seed Lansdale Catholic on Tuesday, June 2, at Southern Lehigh. Match time is still to be determined as the Spartans look to continue their postseason momentum.
