Head Coach: Dave Ackerman (16 years)

Assistant Coaches:
Jim O’Leary

Sport: Cross Country: Cross Country

Team Name: Allentown Central Catholic Vikings/Vikettes

League: EPC

Key Runners Lost:
Cate Haring
Will Haring
Tommy Grubb
Michael Rofaiel
Shane Bingaman

Key Returning Runners:
Ainsley Tighe (11): State qualifier last year, coming back from some health issues from last spring.

Teresa Haring (10): Had a good first year, growing stronger and stronger as last season went on.

Gavin Mahon and Thomas Scheidel (12): Both have been key members of previous District Champion teams, and Gavin qualified for the State Championship last season.

2026 Outlook: More question marks than anything. Small team all around so we have to stay healthy. In addition, the up-coming seniors have never been in a position of leadership because the last three senior classes have been sound in that regard. Little concerned about that. First year in three or four that I have no idea what to expect.

Head Coach: Erica Pagotto (14th season)

Assistant Coaches:
Tony Pagotto
Justin Leininger

Sport: Cross Country

Team Name: Lehighton

League: Colonial

2025 Record: Boys 17-11; Girls 3-25

Key Runners Lost:
Bekim Cokrlija
Elijah Pagotto
Sebestian Warner
Calli Peiffer

Key Returning Runners:
Ezra Berros- Ezra is a hard worker and is fun to be around. He takes running seriously but at the same time makes it enjoyable.

Gavin Kester- Gavis is consistent which will help him in the long run. Last year he dealt with an injury, so we’re working on keeping him healthy to see what he can do this year.

Anna Hawk- Anna has a goal of qualifying for States and her work ethic should get her there. I’m seeing a difference in her weekly mileage, so I’m excited to see what the season brings her.

Claudia Pagotto- Claudia qualified for States for the past two years and she’s working hard to hit that goal again.

Kennedy Quinn- Kennedy is a multisport athlete, so we’ll be sharing her with other sports during the fall season, but she can definitely handle it.

Key Newcomers:
Joshua Cathers- Joshua is a new student at Lehighton. He’s a junior and extremely talented. He qualified for States last year in single A and is determined to make it this year for AA. He puts in a ton of work and fits in so well with our team, you would never know this was his first season with us.

Grace Cathers- Grace is a new student at Lehighton this year. She’s a freshman, but runs with the top upperclassmen. I’m looking forward to see what she will accomplish over the next four years.

Santiago Lopez- Santiago ran track for us and is such a hard worker. I’m glad he decided to run cross country this season. His consistency is unmatched.

2026 Outlook: We’re going to be competitive, we have athletes who either qualified for States last year or were right on the bubble, and that experience has them determined to get back there. This group has a great dynamic, they are fun to be around, and they do a great job welcoming newcomers, including the middle schoolers coming up. It’s a supportive environment where everyone is pushed to do their personal best, whether it’s qualifying for States or dropping their time.

Something else I love about this team is their connections with cross country athletes from other teams. This summer, we held a few joint practices with other teams, and it’s neat to see that comradery between schools, not just competition. So overall we’ve got a fun, welcoming group with athletes who are hungry to get back to States. We’ll compete hard, but we also value the relationships we’re building with other teams. The athletes are putting in the hard work, my focus is keeping them healthy so they can reach their goals.

Head Coach: Anthony Pytko (5 years) 2024 boys Schuylkill League boys division 2 championship, 2024 boys and girls class “A” District XI championship, 2025 Schuylkill League division 2 girls championship

Assistant Coaches:
Brandon Stasulli

Sport: Cross Country: Cross Country

Team Name: Blue Devils

League: Schuylkill League

2025 Record: Girls: 12-0 – Boys: 8-4

Key Runners Lost:
Girls: Paloma Monjaraz, Lucero Zavala Perez
Boys: Robert Espinal, Toby Gudinas

Key Returning Runners:
Girls: Victoria Hernandez (state qualifier), Valeria Hernandez (state qualifier), Ruby Ruiz (Schuylkill League all star), Gianna Donovan (Schuylkill League all star)

Boys: Gabriel Saba (state qualifier), Angel Flores (state qualifier)

Key Newcomers:
Girls: Brookelyn Gradwell, Kimberly Hurtado Olayo, Brigette Zamudio Carmen

2026 Outlook:
Girls: The goals for the Lady Devils are to win the Schuylkill League Division 2 championship, win the Class “A” District XI Championship, and to qualify for the state championship meet as a team. The strengths for the Lady Devils are varsity experience (the entire top seven returns with proven big meet composure), proven leadership (State qualifying captains Victoria and Valeria Hernandez set a fierce pace), and Youth/Depth (an eight member freshman class adds immediate energy and healthy competition for varsity spots).

With all top seven runners returning, led by team captains and state qualifiers Victoria and Valeria Hernandez, the Lady Devils are primed to defend their division title and make a serious push for the Class ‘A’ District XI championship. This group is bolstered by an impactful eight member freshman class featuring standout Brookelyn Gradwell.”

Boys: The goals for the Blue Devils are to win the Schuylkill League Division 2 championship and win the Class “A” District XI Championship. The team is returning 2 out of the 3 state qualifiers from last year. Losing Schuylkill League champion, District XI champion, and all-state runner Robert Espinal will be a tough hurdle to overcome. They will look to use the lessons learned from last year to qualify for the state meet as a team.

Our goals this season are crystal clear: we are targeting the Division 2 title and expect to be right in the mix for the Class ‘A’ District XI championship. Having state qualifiers like Gabriel Saba leading as captain alongside Angel Flores gives us incredible varsity big meet experience. Add in an immediate impact freshman like Javier Arias Granados, and this group has the firepower to do something special.
