A bicycle kick leads Northwestern to District title

Southern Lehigh and Northwestern Lehigh met on the pitch at Parkland high school on Saturday with the District 11 3A Boys Championship at stake.

Both teams had their share chances, especially in the first half but the game remains scoreless after regulation. From there, a dramatic ending leading the Tigers to the 1-0 overtime win.

Minutes into ot, Junior Ryan Baker had a perfect throw in that eventually found the foot of Jeff Garcia. The senior in dramatic fashion, used a bicycle kick to find the back corner of the net and lead the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers to the District XI 3A championship.

The play also gained national attention as it made ESPN top 10 plays.

The Tigers now get ready for the PIAA tournament which gets underway on Tuesday.
