The PPL center in Allentown the site for the District XI 6A Boys Semifinals. Game one featured the Parkland Trojans the number three seed vs the #2 seed Northampton. The KonKrete kids jumped out to a 15-0 lead behind the play of Isaiah Harris and Lucas Lesko. Parkland’s first basket came from JT Siggans with under a minute to play on the first quarter. The K-kids led after one quarter 15-4.
The second quarter started shifting momentum to Parkland as they closed the gap to 19-15 at the half, after back- to- back three pointers by Nick Coval.
The tide turned all in favor of the Trojans in the third as they went on 14-0 run to go ahead 21-19 and never looked back from there as they went on to post the 45-39 win. The Trojans were led by Coval with 14 points and Trey Rolle chipped in with 10 points. For Northampton, Isaac Harris led the way with 16 points while Lucas Lesko scored 15.
The season came to an end for Northampton while Parkland punched their ticket to the Championship game on Thursday.
Game two pitted Top Seed Pocono Mountain West versus number 4 seed and defending District XI Champions Allen. The Panthers jumped out to the early lead to go ahead 20-17 after one quarter of play. Things changed in quarter number two as Allen started connecting from the exterior, the biggest coming by Anthony Rondon to beat the buzzer and give the Canaries a three-point lead at the break 39-36.
Things changed quickly in favor of the Canaries in the second half. After a 3-pointer by Michael Lawrence, who finished with 17 points, Allen took over. They hit from inside and out and used a 20-3 run to put the game out of reach. Pocono Mountain West was led by Christian Fermin, with the 6-9 center, scoring a game high 27 points but that was not enough.
Allen, behind 22 points and five threes by Rondon along with 16 points by both Nate Ellis and
Mel Copeland, won the game 80-67 and are headed back to the championship game on Thursday and they will face Parkland for the second straight year.
Allen improved to 10-4 on the season while the Panthers end their season at 9-2.
