2025 Girls Tennis Preview: Bethlehem Catholic HS

Head Coach: Dan Arklans, third year

Sport: Tennis (G)

Team Name: Bethlehem Catholic

League: EPC

2024 Record: 6-10

Key Players Lost:
Ava Burkart, first singles
Judy Pintor, second singles.

Key Returning Players:
Elizabeth Schock, first singles, senior, played 3 singles last year, and has game to frustrate opponents.

Madison Araniego, senior, No. 2 singles, played 3 doubles last year, big step up for Araniego, but I believe in her.

Louisa Robinson, senior, No. 3 singles, played 2 doubles last year, and is very consistent. If she can improve her serve she will have a big year.

Ruby Robinson, sophomore. She’s back at second doubles this year, but is more committed to the team. She is quite frankly the best doubles player on the team.

Sasha Mathew, Jr. She played No. 3 doubles last year, and I have total confidence in her to keep improving.

Sophia Fiorini, Sr. Fiorini is a four-year member, who is stepping up from the No. 4 position. If she puts in the work I have no doubt she will have a big season.

Kiley Parkes, senior. Parkes is back with Fiorini to play together again. She still has potential and I expect a big year for her.

Madelyn Araniego, sophomore. Madelyn was the top JV player last year and she is fighting for a spot this year.

Selena Phan, senior. Phan is back for another season and should compete for a spot.

Key Newcomers: Caroline Doty, freshman. Doty comes up with some tennis background and should make an impact. Brooke Mayer, freshman. Mayer plays tournaments and comes up with a tennis background. She should be in the mix.

2025 Outlook:
Strengths: This is a senior-laden group, which has been with me since the beginning. My hope is that we are more committed this season and it results in improvement. I am not concerned with wins and losses, but improving each day. We have excellent depth, so I expect doubles to be our strong point.

Weaknesses: We just don’t have tournament players like other schools do, especially at the top of the lineup.
