Class of 2021 Pirate Athletes

Class of 2021 Pirate Athletes

This has been a crazy year with sports, but there are still plenty of Palisades Pirates who are off to keep playing their sports on the next level! In the past few months, many senior Pirates have committed to colleges and universities for a range of different sports.

Recently, Delaney Hilferty has committed to King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She will wear a King’s uniform on both the football field and the throwing arena for track and field. In the fall, Hilferty had an amazing senior season with making all 45 of her extra-point attempts as the Palisades Pirates Football Team chased the District 11 Class 2A championship. Additionally, Hilferty never missed an extra point in her 2019 JV season, which makes her record even more impressive. She continued to play varsity soccer while on the football team, is currently playing basketball, and will additionally throw in the spring for the Pirates’ track and field team. Delaney is very excited about her continuation of her academic and athletic career!

Additionally, Matt Santos will be playing football at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. He was an inspirational leader on and off the field, and he was the Pirates’ backup quarterback this year. Santos has been a crucial part of the team for three years and had his first rushing touchdown back in November against Panther Valley. He will be well missed next year for Palisades!

Some additional commitments:

Mason Smeland is headed to Wilkes University to play football.

Zachary Smith will continue his academic and athletic career at Ursinus College to play football.

Ben Haubert committed to The Citadel, which is a military college in South Carolina, for wrestling.

Trinity Williams will attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology to play basketball.

Drew Camp will continue playing soccer at Mount St. Mary’s University.

Logan Boushell is headed to Delaware Valley University to play soccer.

Congratulations to everyone who has committed!
