Hats off to our First Responders

Everyone is in this together and that showed on Friday morning April 17, 2020. A tractor trailer backed up to the dock at St. Luke’s University Health Network in Allentown. Operation Gratitude and the Starbucks Foundation teaming up to bring more than 50,000 care packages to healthcare workers and First Responders across the United States to go along with handwritten notes from kids across the country.

St. Luke’s staff members received about 20 pallets that featured snacks of every kind. Some of the items included were Starburst and M&M’s, beef jerky, coffee, girls scout cookies, energy bars, tea, peanuts to go along with so much more. All snacks to be redistributed to those working on the frontline during Covid-19.

As an added touch, Operation Gratitude and Starbucks included thousands of Thank you notes for First Responders, that were sent from kids throughout the United States.

Operation Gratitude is the largest non-profit, volunteer based organization that supports the Military and First Responders. Their motto is “Saying Thank You to All Who Serve.” And on this day along with Starbucks, they did just that.
