The Next Chapter: EPC League MVP, Nick Filchner, heads to IMG Academy

Nick Filchner of Allentown Central Catholic was everything coach Dennis Csensits can ask for in a player. Scoring 1,134 career points, breaking a school record of 191 career three pointers, 2017-2018 District 11 5A champions, 2019-2020 District 11 4A champions, and voted 2019-2020 EPC League MVP.

In Nick Filchner’s senior season he scored 521 total points averaging 17.9 points per game, 5.1 rebounds per game, 2.1 assist per game, 1.4 steals per game, shot 80.6% from the free throw line, 42.2% from the field, made 58 three pointers, lead the Vikings to the EPC Semifinals, won the District 11 5A Championship, was voted EPC League MVP, named EPC boys basketball all star 1st team, The Morning Call all-area 1st Team, and ended the Viking’s season with a record of 24-5.

Nick Filchner had a great high school career. He is grateful of the Viking family and everything they have done for him. With that being said, on April 18, 2020, Nick Filchner announced he’s attending IMG Academy to D11Sports.com Student Reporter Elijah Rivera.

Nick said that he came across a post that was an IMG post graduation opportunity. He then sent it to Dennis Csensits, and the next morning the IMG head coach messaged Nick and was already interested and wanted him on the team next year.

Nick plans to take pre college courses at IMG, and his goal is to put himself in the best position where he can play basketball at the next level.
