High School Softball takes center stage

As the Covid-19 Pandemic continues to take a toll on the the United States and the World, the state of High School sports remains a hot topic. On Tuesday, the Lehigh Valley High School Softball Showcase got underway at the Moore Township fields in Bath. Sixteen teams representing the East Penn Conference and the Colonial League took part in a pool play tournament that will run through Thursday, with the semi-finals and finals taking place at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown.

The tournament, which was put together by Freedom softball coach Michele Laubach and Official Brandon Hibbler, got the ball running with eight games on Tuesday, followed by 8 games on Wednesday, before moving to the home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

Action on Tuesday featured plays at the plate, rundown situations, strikeouts, and much more. Fans came out to watch the action that was centered around three fields in Moore Township.
