Josh Denlinger

Sport: Tennis (B)

Team Name: Liberty

League: EPC

2023 Record: 20-1

Key Players Lost:
Sid Tekumalla – 2nd Doubles
Chris Giannaras – 2nd Doubles
Jacksen Jobes – 3rd Doubles
Matt Alter – 4th Doubles

Key Returning Players:
Singles: Luke Appleman (12th), David Broczkowski (12th), and Roman Farhad (12th)

We return our top three singles players from last season. We strongly believe that we have three of the top ten players in the district. These three put in considerable work this summer working on technical changes, tactical work, and strength/conditioning. We will look to these three to provide leadership to the rest of our squad.

Doubles: Leo Babbin (12th), Finn Brown (10th), Thomas Horvath (11th), Connor Ohl (11th), EJ Powers (11th), Elijah Quan (12th), Micah Steck (11th), Caden Vermuelen (12th)

We lost many of our doubles contributors from last year; however, we carried over much depth from last year to help replace last years starters. Luckily, many of these players stepped into roles last year during the EPC tournament and were able to medal in the tournament. We hope that our offseason work will translate into maintaining some of the top doubles tandems in the league.

Key Newcomers:
Murtaza Ali – 9th Grade
Tristan Bullard – 9th Grade
Luke D’Angelo – 9th Grade
Aneesh Tumma – 9th Grade
Connor Terefinko – 10th Grade
Ben Blum – 11th Grade (transfer from Bethlehem Catholic)

2024 Outlook: The top of our lineup will be our biggest strength this year. However, the core of our program has always been doubles. Unlike years in the past, there are question marks heading into our doubles lineup.

With all of our seniors from last year playing a large role in our doubles lineup, the question will be who will replace them and can we get the same or greater amount of success as they did? We believe that with a growth mindset, a focus on where our feet are, and not becoming too complacent with past success, we can continue to challenge for a top spot in the district.
