It’s been quite a season for both Parkland and Nazareth on the Tennis court. The Trojans entering their match with the Blue Eagles on Wednesday afternoon a perfect 8-0 while Nazareth checked in at 9-1, with their only loss coming against undefeated Liberty 6-1 in the first match of the year.
This one was expected to be a battle to the very end and it did not disappoint. The Blue Eagles controlled the singles competition, with a clean sweep to get things going. The Trojans, meanwhile, battled right back capturing wins at number 2,3, and 4 doubles to even the match at 3-3.
This match would come down to number one doubles featuring the top two singles players for each team. Gabe Knowles and Andrew Nicolae would prevail beating Ankit Lenka and Matthew Liu 10-5.
The win improves Nazareth’s record to 10-1 on the year while Parkland falls to 8-1. Both teams right back in action on Thursday with Nazareth facing Emmaus and Parkland going head to head with Central Catholic.
