Nazareth Area hires new Softball Head Coach

NAZARETH AREA HIGH SCHOOL HIRES NEW

SOFTBALL HEAD COACH

(NAZARETH, PA) August 1, 2019 – The Nazareth Area School District is proud to announce the hiring of Steve Genzale as its new Varsity Softball head coach.  Genzale was approved by the NASD Board of Directors at its July 30^thmeeting.  Genzale is a native of Nazareth, PA and currently serves as a Physics Teacher at Phillipsburg High School.  He has also served as a Head Softball Coach for the Upper Nazareth Clippers as well as an assistant coach with the Forks Thunder.   

Steve most recently served as the Junior Varsity Baseball Coach at Phillipsburg High School.  He had prior stints as a baseball coach at both Warren Hills High School and Kinnelon High School in New Jersey.     

Statement from Director of Athletics Ray Ramella:

“We are very excited to name Steve Genzale as our next HeadSoftball Coach. In speaking with Steve several times, his passion for the sport and working with kids was quite apparent. We found his approach to coaching to be directly in line with our philosophy here at Nazareth.  We were fortunate that the timing worked out and the position opened up as Steve was ready to make the jump to coaching at the high school level.  Coach Genzale viewed our job as one of the premier jobs in District XI and has already begun putting a first rate staff together. We fully expect that he will continue the tradition of winning and developing student-athletes within our program.”
