The District XI Tennis Championships have come to an end after the 3A Doubles title was decided on Thursday afternoon at Lehigh University. This matchup went three sets and had it all. From forehand and backhand winners, volleys and overheads, the two teams from Nazareth and Liberty played lights out entertaining the crowd for more than two hours.
In 20-plus years of covering High School Tennis, this match was one of the best I have witnessed, action packed until the very end. Gabe Knowles and Andrew Nicolae of Nazareth would outlast Louis Gruber and David Lynn of Liberty 6-0,4-6, 6-4 to take home District gold in the 3A Classification.
