Phillipsburg Rolls Big Against Hunterdon Central

Hunterdon Central hosted Phillipsburg bowling at Oakwood on January 11. The P’Burg boys were seeking a win against Central, due to the close home loss to them in December.

The Phillipsburg boys came out of the gate with a victory in game one, shooting a 968 to Central’s 858. PBurg took the victory in game two when they defeated Central 977 to 742. In game three, Central shot a 948 to Phillipsburg’s 886. Phillipsburg’s Marvin Jaquish helped lead the team with a 683 series. P’Burg’s Maddix Myers shot a 258 game. Hunterdon Central’s Lucas Reed shot a 700 on the dot. This victory puts the Phillipsburg boys at 4-4 on the season.

The Phillipsburg girls defeated Hunterdon Central in game one 726 to 646. Both teams improved in game two when Phillipsburg shot a 827 and Central shot a 697. In the final game, Phillipsburg swept Central 870 to 660. The P’Burg girls are now 6-1 on the season. Major contributions to Phillipsburg’s win include Savannah Rutar’s 585 series and Raylyn Cook’s 211 games and 527 series.

Phillipsburg has a busy schedule ahead of them with the Baker Bananza on Saturday, the boy’s match against Belvidere on Tuesday, the HWS tournament on Wednesday, and a home match on Thursday.
