Pleasant Valley takes a tough loss, 64-32 against Northampton

Pleasant Valley had a 3-3 record heading into the game.  They were looking to improve to above .500 on the season. However, Northampton washed away any hope of that, beating Pleasant Valley 64-32.

The first quarter was a very hard fought one as Pleasant Valley only trailed 14-11. Then in the second quarter Northampton played great defense, keeping Pleasant Valley’s offense shut down for only 3 points in the quarter. By the end of the first half, Pleasant Valley trailed 26-14.

The rest of the second half was much like the second quarter. Northampton continued to hit their shots. Pleasant Valley just could not get it going on offense. Zac Gula, a Northampton guard, led the team in scoring with 20 points, propelling Northampton to their 64-32 victory.

Pleasant Valley plays at home against Notre Dame High School on January 4th. After their loss to Northampton, Pleasant Valley now has a 3-4 record. Pleasant Valley will look to make it a more competitive game and get back to .500 on the season.
