Slater Girls Soccer loses to Falcons

The Lady Slaters Soccer Team honored their senior players on October 1st, 2019 in a game against the Salisbury Falcons. Our Slater seniors included Sarah Belo, Jordan Hendricks, Morgan Karasek, Ventura Ortiz, Kelsey Sonntag, Sam Talero, and Abbey Walters.

In the first 39 seconds of the game, Kelsey Sonntag scored her first goal of the game. Shortly after, the Falcons scored their first goal and tied with the Slaters. Slater coaches stood on the sidelines with tension wishing their team would communicate more.

At halftime, the coaches explained to their team that they wanted better communication. The ladies listened intently and with 32:30 left, Sarah Wilk gave the coaches some relief and scored the second goal for Bangor. Throughout the second half of the game, the girl’s soccer team used their coaches’ critiques and it showed. The Falcons scored two more goals on the Slaters. Their final one was with 21:20 left in the game bringing them to 3-2. The final few minutes of their game were intense and neither team was giving up. After a game filled with tension, the Salisbury Falcons won with a final score of 3-2.
