Southern Lehigh Girls Volleyball to Hold 16th Annual Pink Out

On October 8, 2024, the Southern Lehigh Girls Volleyball team will host their 16th Annual Pink Out event benefiting both the Side-Out and Sassy Massey Smiles Foundations.

Center Valley, PA, 10/8: On October 8, the Southern Lehigh Girls Volleyball team will host their 16th Annual Pink Out Event! Over the years, they have raised more than $90,000 for the Side-Out Foundation. With the community’s support this year, we aim to surpass the $100,000 mark for funds raised for metastatic breast cancer research! Additionally, we will contribute funds towards the Sassy Massey Smiles Foundation, a local organization that provides joy to sick children during hospital stays or clinic visits.

The community is invited to come out and support local volleyball teams, Southern Lehigh and Saucon Valley, as they battle it out on the court and raise money for the fight against cancer. The Pink Out event will include basket raffles, merch sales, a 50/50 raffle, and a wide selection of concessions.

This year’s Pink Out is extra personal to the SLGVB Family as one of our own is fighting their battle with breast cancer. Hosting this event while supporting members of our VB family only deepens SL’s dedication to raising funds and awareness to help all families affected by this terrible disease. It is a privilege to be a village for our courageous volleyball mom and to create opportunities for others to receive the care and support they need.

The event kicks off at 3:45 p.m. with the middle school game, followed by JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7:00 p.m.

Since 2005, The Side-Out Foundation ( https://side-out.org/ ) has been using volleyball as a platform to raise funds to support the research and development of treatments for metastatic breast cancer patients. Their goal is to provide patients with more quality time with their families and find a cure for breast cancer.

The Sassy Massey Smiles Foundation (https://sassymassey.org/about/) was created in memory of Jillian Massey, a young girl from the Southern Lehigh community who passed away from Medulloblastoma, a form of pediatric brain cancer. The Sassy Massey Smiles Foundation’s mission is to spread Jillian’s kindness by providing toys to sick children during their hospital stays or clinic visits.

The Lady Spartans are currently 7-0 in league play.
