Pottsville Shuts Out Lehighton

The Lehighton Indians welcomed the Pottsville Crimson Tide for the D11Sports.com game of the week. Both teams entered with a record of 1-1.

Lehighton received the ball first, but a quick three and out gave Pottsville the ball. Pottsville drove down the field scoring on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Jazce Carabello-Snowell to Raeff Dicello to go up 7-0.

After a series of three and outs by both teams, Pottsville scored their second touchdown of the game on a 42-yard touchdown pass from Snowell to Dicello for their second touchdown of the game with 1:38 left in the first quarter. At the end of the first quarter, Pottsville had a 14-0 lead over Lehighton.

In the second quarter, Lehighton started to drive down field when Dicello picked off Lehighton quarterback Richard Fronheiser who was looking for Zach Hunsicker. Pottsville capitalized, scoring on a 40-yard touchdown run by Snowell, his third touchdown of the game. On Lehighton’s next possession, Pottsville’s Bobby Walchak picked off Fronheiser throwing his second interception of the game. Walchak then ran it in for the touchdown with 28 seconds left in the half. Pottsville entered halftime with a 28-0 lead.

Coming out of the half, Pottsville wasted no time scoring on a 19-yard touchdown run by Walchak, his second of the game. After a series of three and outs by both teams, Pottsville scored another touchdown on a 54-yard touchdown run by Walchak increasing their lead 42-0 over Lehighton.

Pottsville led Lehighton 42-0 at the end of the third quarter. With 7:46 left in the fourth quarter, Pottsville running back Parrish McFarland scored for the Crimson Tide making the score 48-0 after a missed extra point. Pottsville would end up winning by a score of 48-0. With three total touchdowns, two passing and one rushing, Snowell was the D11Sports player of the game.

Pottsville improves to 2-1 on the season and will look to continue their winning streak Friday, October 2nd at home as they welcome the Tamaqua Blue Raiders who are currently 3-0 on the season. Start time is at 7:00PM. Lehighton falls to 1-2 on the season and will look to end their losing streak as they welcome Schuylkill Haven Friday, October 2nd. Schuylkill Haven enters with a 1-2 record. Start time is at 7:00PM.
