The Trojans fall in the opening round of the PIAA Tournament

A great season for the Parkland Trojans came to an end on Tuesday afternoon when they fell in the opening round of the PIAA 3A Tennis Tournament, falling to Radnor 4-1.

Parkland, the District XI Champions came into the match against the three-seed out of District 1, a bit shorthanded having to forfeit at number one singles with Joanna Wu out of the line-up because she was sick.

The Trojans would win at number 3 doubles with Erin Joo and Anshika Gupta proving to be too much for Annie Burton and Caroline Egg-Krings 6-2, 6-3.

Radnor controlled the rest of the matches picking up wins at number two and three singles along with number 2 doubles.

#2 singles: Bridget Dougherty(RAD) over Jessica Tseo(PRK) 6-0 6-0

#3 singles: Lucy Hederick(RAD) over Leah Zolotareva(PRK) 6-1 6-1

#1doubles: Erin Joo/Anshika Gupta(PRK) over Annie Burton/ Caroline Egg-Krings(RAD) 6-2, 6-3

#2 doubles: Grace Frigerio/Max Xie(RAD) over Sophia Lee/Mayua Paul(PRK) 6-1 6-2
