Tim McGorry returns to his Alma Mater to become new Football Coach

As a player and as an assistant coach for Allentown Central Catholic, Tim McGorry has seen success capturing state gold. And last month, the 1999 graduate of Central Catholic accepted a position to become the schools new Head Football Coach in hopes to make another run at a state title during his new tenure.

McGorry, who 20 years ago, guided his Vikings team to the 1998 State Championship as the quarterback, will take over a Vikings team that went 6-5 last year under Bob Pietroban. He brings with him a wealth of experience on both the High School and Collegiate levels.

He has had assistant rolls not only at Central Catholic but also at Parkland, Moravian College and most recently at Lehigh University. All places where he helped student-athletes excel at their positions.

Central Catholic will open the season on August 24, 2019, against Stroudsburg.
