Ivan Yance, 12th, Defender

“Ivan is a returning starter and captain. His leadership and intelligence will be essential to our successes this season.”

Donovan Pachay, 11th, Defender

Jose Barrios Suarez, 12th, Midfield, Venezuela

“Jose started a few games for us last season before suffering a season ending knee injury. Hoping a healthy season will allow his technical abilities to shine.:

Delfe Shukuru, 10th, Forward, The Congo

“Delfe is a returing 2021 starter. His energy and athleticism alone are eye catching. We have confidence that his work ethic and skill will lead to a breakout season.”

Miquel Delgado, 11th, Forward, Columbia

“Miguel is a returning 2021 starter. With a more experienced surrounding cast Miguel will have opportunity to do less to create more. Last season our inexperience forced Miguel outside his comfort zone. We expect Miguel’s creative approach to the game to flourish this season.”

2022 Outlook: “Entering my 21st year of coaching at my alma mater, William Allen High School, it is impossible to not reflect on our 2021 season. I sometimes question why I do this, particularly the hours spent away from my family, but this team brought new life to my vision and purpose as a coach at William Allen High School last season. The team reminded me once again of the importance of all of this. It is not always about wins and losses, but rather the bonds that are forged in times of distress.”

Last season tested our patience, but this group of young men withstood many challenges and showed great resiliency. Last season was not about statistics, instead it is more about how this game has an impact on each of our lives that is greater than the game itself. One of things I love most about coaching at Wm. Allen is the diverse background of the team. This diversity brings with it many challenges, but it also brings a resiliency that can only be seen during the daily grind. This 2022 team has overcome a great deal and have stuck it out together. We will not dwell on last season, but I am certain this group will not forget and has their sights set high. I look forward to seeing what I know this group is capable of performing.”
