2023 Boys Cross Country Preview: Southern Lehigh HS

2022 Record: 22-2 : 3rd place CL, 7th place Districts

Key Returning Players:
Greg Rubino (Jr.) – CL 8th 2022, 30th 2021, Districts 31st 2022, 50th 2021. Greg made great improvements from his freshman to sophomore seasons. He was consistently a top 3 runner for the boys team and ran an excellent league championship race finishing 8th. Greg is the vocal leader of the team and the number one returning runner.

Peter Jones (Jr.) – CL 17th 2022, 18th 2021, Districts 41st 2022, 43rd 2021. Peter has been a model of consistency throughout his first two cross country seasons. He is an excellent athlete who has continued to improve this summer.

Gabe Ruggeri (So.) – CL 25th, Districts 50th. Gabe had an excellent freshman season in which he was consistently a varsity runner. He has made great strides this summer and and works very hard during the strength and conditioning sessions.

Connor Licairac (Sr.) – CL 27th. Connor has made steady improvement throughout his high school career. He has been working hard throughout the summer.

2023 Outlook: The boys team is very youthful, having only four seniors on the roster. They exceeded expectations last season going 22-2 and finishing 3rd at the Colonial League Championship in which the top four teams were only 13 points apart.

This years team has higher expectations led by a trio of underclassmen (Rubino, Jones, Ruggeri), as well as a strong freshman class. The boys have been working incredibly hard during the summer in their training and have built great team camaraderie.

The boys team is motivated to compete for the league and district championships.
