Easton Moves to 3-0 After Taking Down Erasmus Hall

It was a brisk September evening at Cottingham stadium and it seemed as if the Rovers were taking on their toughest opponent yet. On September 5th, 2025, the Dutchmen of Erasmus Hall traveled from Brooklyn, New York, looking to get an easy win. However, the red hot Rovers had other plans and increased their winning streak to four and improved to three and zero on the season. The Rovers look to keep rolling this week when they take on their first league opponent in the Becahi Golden Hawks.

Erasmus Hall started the game hot making a defensive stand in the red zone and then striking first on offense. Then, to start the second quarter, Erasmus scored on a deep touchdown making the score 12-0. One would think the Rovers started to feel the pressure. But if there is one thing we know about Matt Seneca and his team, pressure is never a factor.

Late in the first half, senior quarter-back Cole Ordway threw a bullet pass to sophomore receiver Zack Martenis for his first varsity touchdown, and put the Rovers within five going into the half. Or were they? Rovers got the ball back and scored once again taking the lead 13-12, but that still was not the end. Erasmus had a huge return on the kick and was able to find six before the end of the half making the score 19-13.

The Second half was all offense for the Rovers, and they had Erasmus Hall seeing red while they were on offense. Ordway got the scoring started for the Rovers, scoring an iconic long QB keeper touchdown. Erasmus answered and it all came down to the fourth quarter.

At the start of the fourth, Ordway ran in yet another touchdown and was having himself a game making the score 27-25. Tristen Deez then extended the lead for the Red Rovers with a touchdown run. He had plays on both sides of the ball also recording an interception. Then Noah Borluca nailed an 37-yard field goal to extend. But the Dutchmen were not backing down. They returned a kickoff for six and the score was 37-32. Ordway, being the veteran he is, put the icing on the cake with another hat trick game making the final score 44-32.

The Rovers are rolling, taking down high powered offenses, and steam rolling on defense. They have taken down top teams from two different states. The Rovers have that look that they are coming for it all. They will be training all week for their next match up against Becahi on September 13th.
