Catasauqua Edges Out Lehighton

The Lehighton Indians welcomed the Catasauqua Rough Riders for a Girl’s Varsity soccer match. Catasauqua entered the event with a record of 1-2, while Lehighton entered with a 1-1 record.

Catasauqua wasted no time getting on the board on a goal by Isabella Atiyeh to take the lead 1-0. Yelina Horn scored for Lehighton tying the score 1-1 heading into the second half. Both defenses held strong in the second half until Sydney Gebhardt scored for Catasauqua giving them the lead 2-1 with just :17 seconds left to play. Lehighton goalkeeper Alyssa Myers finished with a total of five saves.

Catasauqua improves to 2-2 on the season, while Lehighton falls to 1-2. Catasauqua will look to continue there winning streak as they travel to Southern Lehigh to take on the Spartans.
