D-11 wrestlers shine at Regionals

The first night of the Class 2A Southeast Regional Tournament featured plenty of success for District 11 wrestlers. A total of 18 District 11 wrestlers advanced to the semifinals on Friday night.

Notre Dame Green Pond led the way with eight wrestlers moving on to the semis.
Adam Schweitzer (120), Ayden Smith (106), Brandon Chletsos (132), Bryson Vaughn (138), Evan Maag (145), Garrett Tettemer (172), Holden Garcia (160) and Jared Blobe (215) are still alive for gold for the Crusaders. Notre Dame also leads the team standings with 83.5 points.

Saucon Valley advanced six wrestlers to the semifinals.
Cole Hubert (106), Dante Mahaffey (215), Jake Jones (172), Liam Scrivanich (152), Ryan Crookham (138) and Ty Csencsits (189) all moved on to the semis for the Panthers, who are second in the team standings with 68.5 points.

Lehighton’s Aidan Gruber (113), Northwestern’s Lucas Miller (172), Tri-Valley’s Jacob Scheib (189) and Palisades’ Daniel Haubert (172) are also in the semifinals.

Action resumes with second round consolations at 9:30 a.m., followed by semifinals and third round consolations at 11 a.m. The fourth round consolations will take place at 1:30 p.m. The Parade of Champions will take place at 4:50 p.m., followed by the consolation and championship finals at 5 p.m. In Class 2A, the top six wrestlers advance to states.
