2023-24 Girls Basketball Preview: Emmaus HS

Head Coach: Kelsey Gallagher (Entering 7th Season)

Assistant Coaches:
Jordan Hertz – 1st season
Taylor George – 4th season (Head JV Coach)
John Dietrick – 2nd season (Head JR coach)

Sport: Basketball (G)

Team Name: Emmaus High School

League: EPC

2022 Record: 14-11

Key Players Lost:
Paige Inman – PG – 9.8 ppg

Key Returning Players:
Mya Cooper – Sr. – 5’5 – G – 7ppg – * 3-year starter and someone I depend on to always lead by example. Mya is the type of player that never stops playing until the game is over. I’m looking for Mya to be more of a vocal leader this season and be more aggressive in shooting the ball when she is open.

Gabby DeVita – So, 5’5 – G – 9.3ppg * Gabby is coming off of a solid freshman season where she accomplished a lot of firsts in her first season. As a staff, we’re looking for Gabby to build off of last season, be more of a leader, and to be more consistent. Overall we’re excited for her growth and the overall impact she will have on the floor.

Taylor Griifith Sr. 5’8 SF/PF – 8.1 ppg * Taylor can shoot the 3 at a pretty consistent percentage but we’re looking for Taylor to focus more on her defense and leading our team in offense and defensive rebounds

Cassie Doemling – JR – PF – 3ppg * Cassie had a great summer and fall and really committed her time to improving her game. Cass has shown that she has the biggest upside this season and we’re excited for her.

Key Newcomers:
Kayla Snyder – Fr. – 5’5 – PG/SG

2023-24 Outlook: Strengths – Our intensity on Defense this season will be a strength of ours. Defense has always been a focus for our program and we truly believe great things happen when we’re clicking on defense. Areas for improvement will be our overall discipline on both offense and defense.

It’s easy to get distracted and listen to the noise outside but if we can dial in and remain disciplined I think this could be our best year yet.
