Father and Daughter: Jose and Taliyah Medina enjoying their time together on and off the Court

It has been a tremendous run for the Bethlehem Catholic Golden Hawks girls basketball team this year but their quest for back to back state titles remains on hold. The Golden Hawks are in the Final 8 of the 4A Classification but because of Covid-19, the season is at a standstill with a State shutdown. But, while Jose and Taliyah Medina, along with everyone else, await the decision to cancel or play the final games of the PIAA tournament, their bond grows bigger and better than ever.

We sat down with the Father-Daughter duo via social distancing, to hear more about their amazing relationship on and off the court. Bethlehem Catholic is hoping at sometime to get back on the court against Scranton Prep, but in the meantime it’s doing all the little things so they are always ready. The Golden Hawks have won 42 game in a row with the Senior class capturing more than 100 wins during their tenure to go a long with state titles in two of the last three years.

A third title is the ultimate goal after winning their 4th straight East Penn Conference and District XI 4A championships. Time will tell if they they get that opportunity  but if they don’t, the past four years together is a time that they will always hold near and ear to their hearts.
