The State of the Colonial League

For many student-athletes across the Lehigh Valley and the United States, they find themselves off from school and off the playing surface. This is a time for Spring Sports to take over for a couple of months, but mostly everything is shutdown because of Covid-19.

I had a chance to talk one on one with Colonial League President Bryan Geist about the state of the Colonial League and also his expectations of having a Spring Sports season. No season, half a season, or some kind of abbreviated season was all discussed. Geist, along with the other Athletic Directors in the Colonial League, have put together a number of different scenarios as they await the decision from not only the PIAA but also Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf.

Schools may be shutdown down and games and practices halted but that isn’t stopping Geist from hoping that something can be salvaged moving forward. While things are changing daily with everything going on with Covid-19, everyone is hoping for light at the end of the tunnel, with hopes of getting back in the classroom an athletic fields.
