On Friday, September 20th, 2019, The Freedom Patriots played the Whitehall Zephyrs. The Patriots didn’t waste any time to score. Seconds into the game, Jared Jenkins passed to Gabe Caton, who went 80 yards for a touchdown. The Patriots kept the first quarter going with Jenkins getting a 61-yard touchdown run followed by a Jalen Stewart score on a 4 yard run.
Freedom added a 23 yard-interception return and a 33-yard touchdown run by Stewart. The Patriots went up 35-0 over the Zephyrs after one quarter of play.
Freedom opened up the second quarter, with a one-yard run by Mayson Panik and a 42-0 lead. Whitehall was able to score their first touchdown during this quarter on a Marcus Hamscher, 16 yard reception. At the half, Patriots 42, Zephyrs 6.
In the third quarter, Allen Negrete scored a four-yard touchdown. Tommy Buskirk scored a touchdown with a 32-yard interception. After three quarters, the score was Patriots 42, Zephyrs 18.
In the fourth quarter, Freedom added a two-yard touchdown run from Stewart and a six-yard touchdown run from Romero. The final score of the game was the Patriots 49, Zephyrs 26.
Freedom improves to 4-1 with the win, while Whitehall falls to 0-5. Next up for the Patriots will be Pocono Mountain West, while the Zephyrs will take on Bethlehem Catholic.
