Freedom Rolls Past the Hornets

Emmaus was in enemy territory Friday night to take on the 6-1 Freedom Patriots. Emmaus came into the game at 4-3 but would fall to 4-4 after a 63-28 defeat. Freedom would improve to 6-1. 

It was back and forth throughout the first quarter. Brandon Camire of Emmaus had two rushing touchdowns. Freedom would respond to every touchdown with a score of their own. After one quarter, it was 14-14. 

In the second quarter, Emmaus struck first to make it 21-14. Freedom responded with a score to it 21-21. Freedom took over. They went up 28-21 then 35-21. They scored again to make the score 42-21 at halftime. 

Freedom continued their domination in the second half going up 49-21. Emmaus’ Jared Groller scored to make it 49-28. That was the score after three. 

Freedom scored two more in the fourth quarter to finish the scoring at 63-28. Jenkins was 20/24 for 426, a school record, and four passing touchdowns. 

Freedom improves to 7-1 while Emmaus falls to 4-4. Freedom will take a road trip to Allentown Central Catholic next week. For Emmaus, they will host Bethlehem Catholic.
