Girls’ Wrestling Is Now A Piaa School Sponsored Sport At East Penn (Emmaus)

Rebecca George, Director of Athletics for Emmaus High School announced: With the final budget approval on June 10th at the East Penn School Board Meeting, the Hornets will now sponsor Girls Wrestling as a PIAA School Sponsored Sport at the Jr High and High School levels.

Emmaus Athletic Director Rebecca George provided this statement, “We had a successful season last winter with significant participation numbers and competition. We have recently added Boys Middle School Track and Field, Girls Middle School Track and Field, Middle School Boys Club Lacrosse, Middle School Girls Club Lacrosse, Unified Track and Field Club and now it is exciting for the wrestling community to be able to officially have the Girls program become school sponsored at the PIAA level.

The accelerated growth of the sport in the valley and across the state has been remarkable. I would like to thank our volunteer head coaches, Steve Kroope and Trevor Schneck, for all of their assistance over the past year as we collectively laid the groundwork to make this possible.”
