Lehighton Girls Varsity Soccer falls to 0-3

It was perfect weather for the Lehighton Indians to host a home game against the Tamaqua Blue Raiders in Girls Varsity Soccer. The Indians came into the game with an 0-2 record hoping to get their first win of the season.

Both defenses held strong for most of the first half until senior Emma Kuczynski put Tamaqua on the board first with five minutes left in the half. There was no additional scoring for the remainder of the first half.

Sophomore Alyssa Myers had a strong game at goalie for Lehighton as she turned away a countless number of shots by Tamaqua. Lehighton’s best opportunity to score came on a kick by sophomore Brittney Bartasavage, which hit the goalpost.

With less than ten minutes played in the second half, senior Jamie Zuber scored another goal for Tamaqua giving them a 2-0 lead, which ended up being the final score. Lehighton’s next Girls Varsity Soccer Game is Monday September 9th at 4:00PM as they travel to Wilson to take on the Warriors.
