The Lehighton Indians welcomed the Jim Thorpe Olympians for a boys soccer matchup. Lehighton entered the game with a 4-5-1 record, while Jim Thorpe entered with a record of 7-2-3.
Jim Thorpe scored early in the first half on a goal by Kieran Mele giving them the 1-0 advantage over Lehighton. Lehighton quickly responded on a goal by AJ Light tying the score up at 1-1. Noah Geiser then added another goal for Lehighton giving them the 2-1 lead heading into halftime. Georgiy Sakharov scored the only goal in the second half for Jim Thorpe giving them the win over Lehighton by a score of 3-1.
Jim Thorpe improves to 8-2-3 on the season while Lehighton falls to 4-6-1. Jim Thorpe will look to continue their winning streak against Pine Grove. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th at 5:00PM. Lehighton will play at Tamaqua on Tuesday, October 5th at 6:15PM.
