Parkland beats rival Emmaus and wins another District XI Volleyball Championship

It was a familiar scene at Catasauqua High School on Thursday night, as #5 Parkland went head to head with #3 Emmaus in the District XI 4A Volleyball Championship. This was a rematch of last years final won by the Trojans.

Parkland coming into the match looking for their 6th consecutive District XI Championship and 9th in the last ten years. And mission accomplished as Parkland once again took home the Gold beating the Green Hornets in four sets 35-33, 25-17, 17-25, 25-16.

The match was as good as it gets with Parkland denying six set points before winning the first set 35-33. The Green Hornets battled back from a 2-0 deficit but the Trojans proved to be to much as they once again claimed the title.

Parkland improves to 17-5 as they head into the PIAA tournament hoping to make another run at a State Championship. The Trojans, under 16th year head coach Mike Krause, have been a staple on the court under his leadership. Krause has an overall record of 318-54 guiding his teams to 8 league and 8 District Titles, along with three state crowns. The tournament gets underway next week.
