The Trojans hoping to make another run at states

The Parkland Trojans were back in familiar territory on Tuesday night, as the opened the PIAA 4A Volleyball tournament at Catasauqua High School, the same location they won the District XI title a week prior.

The Trojans, under veteran head coach Mike Krause, went head to head with Central Dauphin, the Number four team out of District 3.

Set one, Lauren Ceh had a finish at the net for the Trojans. The Rams countered on a big finish from Allison Stubblfield and we were tied again at 15-all. They would tie again at 17-all but Parkland took the first set 25-18, as Brynn Dreisbach ended it will a big kill.

On to set number two, tied at 8,9,10 and 11-11, before the Trojans took control behind the play of Dreisbach, who put together a couple of kills. Cat Farole ended it at 25-18 with an ace an a 2-0 lead.

To set number three, Amber Resendez delivered a cross court kill followed by solid defense on the block to go up 9-2. The Rams responded with an 8-1 run to even the 3rd set at 10-10, but the Trojans proved to be to much and won 25-17.

A three-set sweep and a spot in the State Quarterfinals Saturday vs Central York.

The Trojans won their 8th league title and 9th District title over the last two weeks, and now are vying to make a run at their 4th state title
