The Trojans Reload For 2019 Season

The Parkland Softball team once again goes into the year with the target on their back. The Trojans head into the 2019 season with high expectations after a memorable 2018, that saw them capture the East Penn Conference and District 11 6a Championships. Parkland almost picked up the trifecta but fell short losing to Hempfield in the State Championship 4-3 in 8 innings.

But, with a new year, come new goals and expectations. While veteran head coach Barry Search will look to replace seven starters lost to graduation, he still has a solid nucleus returning. His main weapon is his all-star pitcher Kelly Dulaney, who went 21-4 with a 1.22 ERA a season ago.

Parkland began the year in Florida playing a few games at the Disney World complex. They came home from the Sunshine State 3-0, before losing 2-0 to Northampton in their EPC opener. On Thursday, the Trojans scored early and often en route to a 12-0 win over Central Catholic.

Parkland, now 3-1, will have a couple of days off before getting back to action on Monday, April 1, when they host Nazareth at 4 pm.
